Herve Leger Spring 2013

I'm currently watching the Herve Leger by Maz Azria Spring 2013 Runway Show LIVE here and so far i am really impressed with the collection!

Opening look was a geometric, colour blocked number that was absolutely STUNNING!

This collection mostly consisted of a neutral palette and a few flashes of steel blue, while
intricate chain weaving and color-blocking create
graphic shapes.

Models were decked in python and leather ankle boots, belts and
harnesses that accentuate the female form.

I especially like the half braid styling on the models! It was a modern spin on braids, which brought me back to the Elizabethan Age during the entire show.

There were a few dresses and swimsuits i really took to. I prefered the colour blocked clinging dresses with a high neckline as opposed to the patchwork designs with a flared cut.

Overall, i thought the collection was eclectic, modern and cohesive. A perfect union of soft handcrafted emobroidery and strong clear lines that represents feminine strength whilst staying true to its vision and direction. The collection had a very "Joan of Arc" vibe without being overly masculine.

That's the thing about Herve Leger dresses isn't it, i wouldn't categorise the dresses as classy or smart-looking, instead, they are very magnetic, edgy and sensual. I just love how the dress molds and redefines my body with its signature bandage textile, accentuating the curves of my redefined body without emphasizing much on my flaws.

It's one of my favourite labels because when i put my black body con dress on, it makes me feel like a badass. Tough, provocative and confident. I'm fond if its clean cut lines, without having too much unnecessary details that distracts the eye from the curving lines of the female body.
