Haute Couture Spring Summer 2013

It's Haute Couture week and here are some of my favourite picks straight from the runways!

Valentino

Stephane Rolland

Maison Martin Margiela

Iris van Herpen

 Giambattista Valli

Chanel

Jean Paul Gaultier

Zuhair Murad

I'd have to say that my favourite designer this season would be Elie Saab! It was a difficult choice between him and Zuhair Murad! Their taste and style seems to be slightly similar yet translated ever so differently on the runways. Could it be due to the fact that both of them are Lebanese and that has somehow influenced and inspired them in fairly similar ways?

Elie Saab

Elie Saab's designs are feminine, ethereal and nothing short of elegance. All of the models had their hair pulled back and looked so poise and pristine in the settings of a plush and grandeur ambience. The detailing on his gowns were exceptionally and well-executed in pastel colours.  I loved the transition from white to mauve to red and finally to the black gowns, it was show-stopping piece after piece after piece. And when they finally dimmed the lights and relit to reveal the final gown.. EVERYONE, i literally mean EVERYONE from the audience started to fuss out their phones and take a picture of it.

Isn't it divine?! Jessica Biel was damn right about her choice when she picked Elie Saab to be her wedding dress designer.

He makes it terribly hard for me to pick a favourite and if i had a wedding, i honestly would not know which evening gown to choose. Though i have to admit, he took it home when he closed his show with that stunning white wedding gown.

Which design do you like best?
